Trinity Lutheran’s Pumpkin Patch
Trinity will be hosting its first ever Pumpkin Patch this Fall!!
A Great New Outreach and Fundraising Opportunity
October 16th– 31st
11:30am-7:30pm Each Day
That’s right! What an opportunity for outreach to our community as we pique the interest of passersby. Trinity will host a pumpkin patch with the proceeds going to our youth. We will be handing out information to let people know about our GREAT Church, Parochial School, Children’s Ministry and Youth programs, and Small Groups.
We have 1800 Pumpkins, along with specialty items like Small White Pumpkins, Star Gourds, Swan Gourds, Wing Gourds, Elf House, WeeBee, Sweet Lightning and Spookie’s being delivered on Saturday, October 16that 9am.
After everything is unloaded, we will be immediately open for selling pumpkins!
This is a wonderful program as there is NO RISK to Trinity. We give no money up front; we are not responsible for broken or stolen pumpkins. We will report sales every day and give a percentage of what we sell back to the Pumpkin Patch fundraising organization. The more pumpkins we sell, the higher percentage of dollars we get to keep.
These pumpkins come from a Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico. The growing and harvesting of these pumpkins provides over 600 seasonal jobs with a payroll of over $1M in a region that has 43% unemployment and a median income of $20,000.
This Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser is a Huge Undertaking
and can ONLY be successful with your HELP!
We will need help in the following ways:
- Unloading the semi on Saturday, October 16th at 9am. The pumpkins come loose and have to be unloaded one by one and placed on pallets or in specific grassy areas.
- Donate wagons that you may not need anymore to use for unloading pumpkins from the semi and also for customers to use to haul the pumpkins they are going to purchase. (You can have your wagon back, but I cannot guarantee what shape it might be in).
- Help to measure and price each pumpkin according to the size and price sheet we will receive.
- Above all else, we need people to work the pumpkin patch during the hours of 11:30am-7:30 pm for 16 days from October 16th thru October 31st.
A sign-up sheet for working the fundraiser will be coming as an insert mid-September or you can sign up on our website. Just go to TLCS.org and when you see the Pumpkin Patch picture on the carousel on the main page, click on it and it will take you to the form. You can also email Mistee Plattner (mplattner@tlcs.org) and let her know what day and time you would like to volunteer, or if you have any questions. She can also be reached at 708-532-9395 ext. 228.
This is a Huge Opportunity to capture audiences we may never connect with any other way.
