Small Groups

What's next for your Small Group? Would you like to... Begin getting together with your group members in more social situations? Begin serving together within our church? Begin serving together in the community? Each Small Group's "next step" may be different. What's the "next step" for your Small Group? Let's take the "next step" with our Small Group Ministry together. Please share your thoughts and ideas with me.

Thank You

We would like to thank all of you for coming out to the Church Picnic and Reveal Worship service we had on Saturday. What a wonderful and hot day it was! We hope you all enjoyed yourselves! I would personally like to thank all who helped with the picnic. If anyone has any pictures they took at the picnic, please contact Judy Culich.

Upcoming Events

SPECIAL VOTERS' MEETING Sunday, July 19 at 9:30am (between services) to place a formal call for the position of Director of Youth Ministries.   Since this position would be a Director of Christian Education (DCE) from The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, the Voters' Assembly needs to issue the call.  Please plan to attend as a quorum of our voting membership is required to take this action!

Special Sermon Series  Starting the weekend of July 26th, we will share a special 4-part sermon series, "The Christian Journey".  Different places along this "journey" will highlight each week: "The Path", "The Mountain", "The Desert" and "The Well".  Invite someone to join you in worship as we see how God guides us and walks with us through this life as we look forward to heaven's eternity.

Salem Lutheran Church, Blue Island would like to cordially invite friends and former members to the celebration of their 100th Anniversary on September 27, 2009.  At their 9am service they will have District President Dan Gilbert deliver the message. Then, the major celebration will be at the 2pm Service. The preacher will be Pastor Ken Klaus, the Lutheran Hour Speaker. Former sons of the congregation and former pastors of Salem Lutheran Church will assist in the service. After the service, they will have a great reception at the Double Tree Hotel at 5000 W. 127th St., just a few blocks west of the 127th & Cicero intersection. The cost of the meal is $15 for adults and $10 for children. Children under 3 are free. It is a sit-down plate meal. If you would like to come, please contact Salem Lutheran Church office so they can reserve your tickets for the reception. The church number is 708-388-1830.
