Church | School Home | Athletics | TRINITY LUTHERAN EXTENDED CARE PROGRAM PURPOSE Trinity Lutheran School views children as a precious resource, given
by God, and acknowledges its responsibility, along with the parents,
for their care and nurture. Therefore, Trinity Lutheran School carries
its ministry of love to provide a safe, secure, and caring setting
in Christian nurture for children whose parents, due to work-related
responsibilities, find it difficult to find adequate direct or indirect
care for their child (ren) before and after school. In addition to
providing for the physical care of children, the extended care will
provide child-centered programs through Christian interaction for
the children and for their parents. FEES Fees for the Extended Care Program are $3.75 an hour per child or $10.25 an hour for families of three or more children in the program. In addition, there is a registration fee of $5.00 per child at the time of enrollment into the Extended Care Program. We will have Extended Care on the two half days of school (one in November and one in December). All children will need to provide their own lunch on the half days. Any student not enrolling at the time of registration, will be charged a $5.00 fee upon the first use of the Extended Care Program. The registration fee is a one-time fee. Children that stay to the quarter hour will be charged to the next hour. Children not picked up by 3:00PM will be sent to the Extended Care Room. Parents will be responsible for the registration fee of $5.00 and the hourly fee of $3.75 per hour.
Parents and guardians are expected to pay all outstanding balances at the end of each week. A penalty of $5.00 will be added to all fees not paid by Wednesday of the following week. If fees have not been paid after two (2) weeks, students may not be able to attend the Extended Care Program. LATE FEES - There will be a late fee of $1.00 per child for every five minutes that a parent is late beyond the 6:00 pm closing time. The late fee will be added to the weekly balance.
Currently the Extended Care Program uses the Trinity Room and the Church Library after school for students in Pre-K through eighth (8th) grade. All students will use the Trinity Room during the morning hours. Children who have not had breakfast may bring something to eat that does not require cooking. Snacks will be provided for the students after school.
The Extended Care Program opens at 7:00 a.m. and again at 2:40 p.m. All students need to be picked up by 6:00 p.m. A parent or designee must sign out all children. In the event you cannot pick up your student or you are unable to arrive by the 6:00 p.m. closing time, please call the Extended Care staff at 708-532-7140 ext. 268 or 708-712-3529. Also, please inform any individual picking up your child(ren) that he or she will be asked to produce photo identification before the child is dismissed.
Students coming to Extended Care after school must go directly to the Trinity Room and sign in. All children should report to the room by 2:50 p.m. Should students be attending an after-school activity instead of Extended Care, the Extended Care staff must be notified of these plans. If a child is going to observe an after-school activity or event prior to being picked up from Extended Care, he/she must have a written note from his/her parent/guardian indicating such. Without written permission, the student will not be allowed to leave the Extended Care Program. Parents are asked to keep the Extended Care staff informed of their student’s schedules. Students remaining at school at 3:00 p.m. and not involved in any school sponsored activity, will be sent to Extended Care. Parents will be responsible for any and all costs. EXTENDED CARE STAFF The personnel of the Extended Care Program are members of Trinity’s staff ministering to the children of the school. For this reason, each Extended Care worker is to be regarded with the same respect and dignity as any other faculty or staff member. Any incidents of disrespect will be brought to the attention of the administration and appropriate action will be taken. Questions regarding Extended Care may be directed to the Extended
Care Director, Mrs. Kathy Boor (708-532-3529 ext 268) or school principal
Mr. Steve Stec (708-532-3529 ext. 240).
